Rustic Jute-Wrapped Boho Vase
A minimalist yet warm DIY project that transforms a simple glass vessel into an elegant piece of home decor using natural fibers and a wrapping technique.
Materials
- Clear cylindrical glass vase
- Natural jute rope (5mm thickness)
- Hot glue gun and glue sticks
- Fabric scissors
- Dried pampas grass or eucalyptus for styling
Realization
- Clean the glass vase thoroughly with alcohol to ensure perfect adhesion.
- Apply a small drop of hot glue at the very base of the vase and secure the end of the jute rope.
- Begin wrapping the rope tightly around the cylinder, applying small dots of glue every 2-3 inches to keep it secure.
- Ensure each row of rope sits flush against the previous one with no glass showing through.
- Once you reach the top rim, cut the rope at an angle and glue the end firmly to the interior edge for a seamless finish.
- Let the glue set for 10 minutes before placing your favorite dried botanicals inside.
Variations
- Ombre effect: Use ropes of different shades from dark brown to cream.
- Beaded accent: Slide a few wooden beads onto the rope before the final wrapping rows.
- White-washed look: Lightly brush the finished rope with white acrylic paint for a coastal boho vibe.
